Let your Yes be Yes

Let your YES be YES

Have you ever found yourself saying yes because others were watching and waiting to hear your response? My question to you is (in Dr. Phil’s voice) “So how is that working for you?”

We all have many decisions that we need to make and there are times when we can answer at the moment and there are times we need a moment to think. My question to you is “Have you ever felt the pressure to say yes when you wanted to say no, or even be given a moment to think?”

To thine own self be true. What does it mean to be true to yourself? In order to be true to oneself would require us to be self-aware. Self-awareness means that you are in touch with how you are wired, how you lean...your motives, strengths, and desires. Self-awareness may require trusted sources to help with areas that you cannot see...someone to help with your blindspots.

Let your YES be YES! This will take some practice and I have been told that you can choose to be honest with yourself and others around you OR you can pretend and eventually be found out. YIKES...Do you want to be found out? Have you ever come to the end of a yes and everyone and everything around you are asking “Why did you say YES?”

Our Yes can often be in the form of overextending, compromising, and right down not being honest. It is okay to say NO. It is okay to say not right now. It is okay to say let me think about it. Honestly, it is healthy boundaries that help you to say yes to the things you should be saying yes to.

Let your YES be YES!!!
